Hey, look who's back after a short absence. For the past few days, she's been spending some more time with friends and family (Fuu, of course, counts as family) when she's not training or even doing a little exploring.
As usual, she has her sword with her, but today she seems to have a bit of holly in her hair.
"Here's a question little to do with this time of year... What's with some vampires that seem like they want to spend eternity brooding?" |

Jubilee has a serious look today. "Do you think it is possible for a person to break a pattern, that has the potential to be self-destructive?"
"What are some ways for a person to break bad, or un-healthy, habits?" |

| It's that time of year again. |

Though the elf this year is a young man with black hair and eyes the green of holly leaves. He smiles at the Nexusites near him, and says, "Who's been good this year?"
((He's got one gift for each character who replies. Please put some inkling of who/what your character is/likes somewhere in your reply if it's not on their bio.)) |

| Christmas Carols |

Rain makes his way to a big comfy chair by a fire. He sits and puts his acoustic guitar across his lap. He's feeling much more festive thanks to a new friend "Who wants to sing christmas carols?" He tunes his guitar and strums idly.
"Go ahead and sing, I'll accompany you." |

| | complacent | ] | “Such a busy time of year, Christmas.” And you might think Cronus disliked it, what with the general heartwarming-family-fun being antithetical to his nature. This is not, in fact, the case. He’s smiling as he ensconces himself in the best chair in sight. Of course, he usually is.
“Feasts to prepare, relatives to entertain, all those last-minute gifts to buy…” The chaos is almost worth the saccharine sentiments, if you ask him. “So much work to live up to so many expectations.”
The Titan/god/superior git contemplates the crowd with the air of someone who has their preparations all in place. Or at least distributed to the underlings to put in place. “So, Nexus. Do you strain yourself to live up to others’ expectations? And what makes this year different from the last?”

The ever changing scenery of the multiverse has expanded to include what appears to be a section of woodland that opens up into a sunbathed clearing today. Other Nexus goers can cancel any plans they might have had to have a picnic there, however. It has already been claimed by another visitor, one that is quite capable of filling most of the space by themselves. Lounging in the very heart of the clearing is a large black dragon, its wings spread over the ground as it suns itself and gazes at the rest of the Nexus with detached interest. The beast looks to be a little on the thin side for a dragon, its scales slightly dull and ashen and what few movements it makes marked with drowsiness. Winter has just ended in her home reality and she has only recently emerged from her den after a few months of hibernation. A couple successful hunts and a good rub against a decent rock formation to jumpstart the molting process will restore her to her usual glory.
Yawning lazily she curls her whip-like tail close to her body and slowly raises her head, uncrossing her forelegs and shifting her weight around a bit. She blinks almost dreamily as she directs her eyes to the Sign. Her gaze does not linger for long on the blindingly bright object, however, before she returns to regarding the multiverse at large. “What do you believe in?” she asks. It is a simple enough question, but one with countless answers. The dragon isn’t looking for anything in particular. She is simply bored and too lethargic to go hunting. |

Ah, the Nexus. For those not appearing in person, there are terminals, vidscreens, blackboards...and artefact books? An old tome to be sure, open to a page inked with tight, slightly cramped handwriting:
With the solstice near upon, at the least in my realm, a question comes to mind:
To the rest of you, good folk, what - in your realm - is magic? What do you make of it?
An associate of mine has quite a talent for sleight of hand, chicanery and such that can give the appearance of sorcery, but that is all it is - sleight. Some cannot tell the difference.
True spellcraft is my art, but mine is for the most part transparent - abjuration, protective spells and subtle enchantments, the practical and the informational. Some might not call these things magic at all, for there is little spectacle to it.
But there is a different side to true spellcraft, conjuring creatures, tossing fireballs and lightning, raising the dead and shaping the earth. Such things are grand, they can be seen by all and sundry. This, to many, is 'real' magic.
What say you, for your realm and plane?
